Day 1: Transfer In - Quito

Your flight will arrive in Quito Airport today. Your driver awaits you at the airport and he will bring you to your hotel in town. Make sure to arrive around noon, so you have a few hours to stroll around Quito for a bit.

Day 2: 322 km. Quito - Papallacta - Tena - Baños

Today your adventure starts! You will meet with our crew in Quito in the morning. After a short briefing on road and bike safety you fill out some final paperwork. Then, finally, the bike you chose and equipment will be handed over to you and tested thoroughly. Now it's time to hit the road! You leave Quito to the east and ride through the Andes and the nearby Antisana volcano, before descending into the amazon basin and to the town of Tena, where you will have lunch. Where to have your lunch break is up to yourself, but of course we will give you recommendations for great restaurants along your route. You continue in the afternoon along the border between Amazon and Andes to Baños, where you will spend your first night. You check in to your room, based on single occupancy, unless requested otherwise, and get ready for a night out. You can hit the bars or enjoy Baños’s nightlife in one of the best clubs in town.

Day 3: Baños

After breakfast, you will have a day full of activities ahead of you, since Baños has a lot to offer. You can choose between several activities, zip lining over the Pastaza river is definitely one of the coolest experiences. Or you take a quick hike down to Pailon del diablo, an impressive waterfall close-by. Here, many different species of birds will cross your path. At night, after a succulent dinner, head over to Leprechaun bar, a nightlife hotspot for locals and travellers alike.

Day 4: 324 km. Baños - Chimborazo - Cuenca

Your day starts quite early with breakfast, so you can be quickly on the next leg of your journey. You leave the cloud forest and head back up to higher altitudes, passing by emblematic Chimborazo volcano, the highest mountain in the world measured from the center of the earth. And therefore also the closest point to the sun on the entire planet. Sorry, Mount Everest! You head further south, driving through the day, until you reach the tranquil and stunningly beautiful colonial city of Cuenca. Culturally and historically, this town has a lot to offer. You check in to your selected hotel, and can enjoy a well deserved and relaxed evening. After a local dinner, further exploring the diversity of ecuadorian cuisine, you have the chance to soak yourself in thermal waters.

Day 5: 251 km. Cuenca - Ingapirca - Guayaquil

After a hearty breakfast you will head a bit back north to visit the famous Ingapirca ruins, the largest site of the Incas in Ecuador, and the only one that contains a sun temple. It was not only a incan fortress, but earlier built and used as a place of worship by the Cañari people. This is another opportunity to take great pictures and learn a bit about the history and culture of the Andes and Latinamerica on a tour held by a local guide throughout the ruins and its surroundings. You will have a proper lunch in the area, and then head west, down the Andes to the coastal region, surrounded by cacao, coffee or banana plantations. In the late afternoon, you will reach Guayaquil, Ecuador’s second most important city and around the same size as Quito, where your hotel will be ready for you.

Day 6: 170 km. Guayaquil - Montañita

You will notice the change of temperature here, the coastal region is much warmer than in the high altitudes of the Andes. After breakfast, your trip takes you north, along the famous Spondylus route, known for assembling the whole coast profile. You will reach the beach town of Montañita, famous for surfing and it’s crazy nightlife. Your hotel here is well selected and also a private surf lesson included in the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy yourself in the bars and clubs along the beachfront, but remember that you will have to be in one piece for the next day on the road!

Day 7: 202 km Montañita - Los Frailes - Manta

In the morning, you will hit the Spondylus route again, riding further north along the coast. You will reach Los Frailes, one of the most beautiful beaches in South America. Surrounded by tropical dry forests, this is quite the relaxing place to be. Later, you drive further to Manta, another important coastal town and your destination for the night. A delightful meal based on seafood at your hotel will wait for you.

Day 8: 395 km. Manta - Santo Domingo - Quito

Prepare for the last and longest leg of your trip! Having a full blast and getting to know all three worlds in 7 days now takes an amazing end. You drive to Quito all day, passing by notorious towns like Santo Domingo, where the locals dye their hair red with spices. The climate changes constantly while you pass by cotton farms and potato fields, take twisty roads back up into the mountains. In Quito, your tour ends, and when you return your bike, enjoy a well-deserved cold beer with tons of stories to tell! Later tonight, you will check in to your hotel, before heading out to have dinner. And maybe a drink near Mariscal Foch, Quito’s lifely bar streets?
