Day 1: Baltra Airport - Santa Cruz - Safari Camp
Today your adventure in the Galapagos begins!
You will be picked up at the airport’s VIP lounge by your guide, who will escort you to Santa Cruz, where a private transport will bring you to your lodge, the magnificent Safari Camp.
While you check in to your tents, your guide will capture the children’s imagination with an overview of all the majestic animals they are about to discover.
After a rich local lunch you will head out to visit bizarre lava tunnels and look out for the giant tortoises that are peacefully roaming the island.
Before sundown, you will be able to explore the 50 hectare large camp area, harvest tropical fruits or cacao and spot some birds that live here.
Day 2: Cerro Mesa - Garrapatero Beach
After a hearty breakfast, you will visit a nearby coffee plantation, learn about sustainable and responsible coffee growth and production. If the season allows it, the kids will be able to pick their own coffee beans.
After that, a short hike through the wetlands of the enormous Cerro Mesa crater is on your schedule. You will discover many species of birds, and if you’re lucky, also bathing tortoises.
Around noon, lunch awaits at a local restaurant.
Later, you will jump on your bikes, and start a ride downhill from the highlands to Garrapatero Beach. Here, the contrast between the white sand beach, the black lava, the turquoise waters, surrounded by mangroves is simply stunning.
Back at camp, the parents can relax and maybe enjoy the cocktail by the infinity pool, while the kids take a private art class with a local artist.
Day 3: Uninhabited island
Today, your day starts early! You will take a motor yacht to one of the neighboring uninhabited islands of Bartolomé, South Plazas, Santa Fe or North Seymour, where you will encounter even more of the archipelagos land and marine wildlife, navigate through secluded bays with calm waters and enjoy boat life for a day.
You will also get the chance to snorkel around or take a swim.
Please note: This is a shared activity. Upon request, we are happy to arrange that your private guide accompanies you or charter a private yacht.
Day 4: Family fishing adventure
This is one of our favourite excursions, and your kids will love it!
Today, you get the chance to join local fishermen on one of their safe speedboats and go fishing on the open seas. The boat is chartered privately and your guide will serve as a translator while the fishermen share anecdotes of their life on sea, and show local fishing tricks for getting the biggest fish to your children.
You will land on a deserted beach only known to locals, where you have the opportunity to snorkel in the shallow waters and look out for tropical underwater wildlife.
If you want to limit fishing and extend time at the beach or snorkel longer, tell your guide and it can easily be arranged.
Back at the camp in the afternoon, you can go for a walk on the property, jump in the pool or relax before dinner will be served.
Day 5: Charles Darwin Research Station - Bay Tour
After breakfast, you will grab a ride down to the main town of Santa Cruz, Puerto Ayora, where the Charles Darwin Research Station is located.
Here is also the tortoise breeding center, where these giants are fed and looked after before being released into the wild, to their particular island. You will all learn a lot on this fascinating tour of the station.
Later, parents can have a relaxing walk around the town, while the guide takes the kids to a local playground or shows them the fish market at the waterfront.
After lunch, you can walk or take a speedboat to Tortuga Bay, a white sandy beach with turquoise waters, marine iguanas basking in the sun, and whitetip reef sharks and tropical fish swimming in the shallow waters.
Or you can jump on a boat that takes you to some amazing snorkeling grounds, surrounded and joined by playful sea lions.
In the evening, enjoy a cocktail on the patio outside of your tent, and let your memories and experiences drift away into the distance on your last night in the enchanted islands.
Day 6: Relaxed morning - Farewell
Enjoy the serene nature and peace of the camp this morning. Take a walk, swim in the pool or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise from the viewpoint before your adventure in Safari Camp ends.
You will be taken back soon to Baltra Airport, where you will catch your flight back to the mainland.
But!!! Your adventure doesn’t necessarily have to end here! Just reach out to us and we can extend your trip on the islands. A cruise or island-hopping, we will make sure to make your wishes come true.
